Houston needs to get started

The Houston Astros have done very well on the plate as they are number two in the playoffs with a .783 OPS. A major reason for their success has been their ability to steal bases, as their six stolen bases without being caught are only behind the Los Angeles Dodgers (11). Right-hander Kyle Tucker has struck well during this playoff race as he has a 1,000 OPS with three home runs and 11 RBIs while stealing three bases. If the rest of the lineup can match him, they will be a great place to level the series.

Zack Greinke has done decently well this season according to his Baseball Savant page, as he is in the 92nd percentile in walking percentage, 73rd percentile in percentage with hard punch, 68th percentile in barrel percentage and 60th percentile in average exit speed. His starting speed of 88.3 MPH is the highest in his career. Greinke throws seven different courses (fastball, changeup, curveball, slider, sinker, two-seam, eephus), and his changeup has been his best pitch as it has a .205 stroke average and a .263 swallowing percentage. He faced the Red Sox once this season, losing three innings and allowing four runs on seven hits with one walk and two strikeouts.

Beantown Beatdown

The Boston Red Sox have dropped this offseason as their .945 OPS is nearly 150 points higher than the Astros, who are in second place. This team has incredible power as they have hit 19 home runs in eight games and scored seven runs in the night. They are the only team with an average above .292 as they have a total .321 stroke average. Third baseman Rafael Devers has performed extremely well at the plate as he has a .957 OPS with three home runs and 10 RBI. If the Red Sox continue to strike, they will win this game and the series.

Nick Pivetta has played well this season according to his Baseball Savant page, as he is in the 74th percentile in xBA, 69th percentile in strikeout percentage, 63rd percentile in xERA and 63rd percentile in xwOBA. His 8.2 barrel percentage is the lowest since 2018. Pivetta has a five-pitch arsenal (fastball, curveball, slider, changeup, sinker), and his changeup has been hit the most as it has a .313 stroke average and a .688 slugging -percentage . He faced the Astros once this season and lost when he threw six innings and allowed two runs on three hits with two innings and nine strikeouts.
